Spring innovation for guiding & centering

topicIcon Precision-Parts

It is spring: Plants are blooming, fruits are ripe and new life is born. We took nature as a model and also created something new. We created innovations for guiding and centering. Let's start with Agathon Mini Fine Centering. The original version of this innovation was initially launched last year for static applications. But even with this focused field of application, the Mini Fine centering has gained many friends among tool and mold makers as well as machine builders. Because: This rather unimpressive-looking product enables completely new tool and mold concepts. This means that thanks to the Mini Fine Centering, cavities can be changed in a flash, without special tools and expert knowledge. And because the Mini Fine Centering works without backlash, perfect tool precision is ensured.

In the meantime, Agathon has further developed its Mini Fine Centering and expanded its scope of application. The Mini Fine Centering can now also be used for dynamic applications. In particular, the centering of floating cavities in multi-cavity tools and molds should offer a broad field of application for the Mini Fine Centering. Thanks to its small footprint, the number of cavities can be increased by up to 30%. Since the Mini Fine Centering is not paired, additional bushings of the standard 7989 can be used - in particular for turning tools or automation solutions, this offers new application possibilities.

Outside the mini-area, Agathon has also put more logs on the fire. For example, the program of Agathon Fine Centering Plus within the 7990 and 7993 series has been extended for use in larger tools. For the standard 7993 a centering with a column diameter of 40mm and for the standard 7990 one with a column diameter of 50mm was developed. So far, the maximum column diameter in the standard 7993 was 25mm and in the standard 7990 32mm.

In general, all Agathon Fine Centerings are a superior alternative to sliding centering systems with backlash and even more so to flat centerings. The backlash-free Agathon Fine Centerings are made of bearing steel and ensure a low-wear operation of molds.

The new maintenance-free sliding bushing is Agathon’s third spring innovation. It distinguishes itself especially for dry running, whereby the small backlash enables a very precise guidance. The sliding surface of the bushing is designed and structured to achieve a very high performance together with the surface of the pillars, the counter partner from the Agathon range.

Finally, two brand new information should not go unmentioned. So Agathon has brought these days a guide pillar with flange on the market, which is not only high quality, but also compatible with the company standard of a competitor from South Baden-Württemberg. The second information concerns the AFNOR standard: guide elements according to the AFNOR standard with a diameter of 80 millimeters will again be permanently available from stock from August 2019 onwards.
